You can use the Align/Distribute function to align a number of objects horizontally or vertically and/or arrange them in a row with equal spacing. The objects can be aligned to an existing object or to the front panel.
Alignment of objects
Mark multiple elements. If necessary, mark the element to which the others are to be aligned first or last.
- Call the Align/Distribute dialog and choose between the following options in the Align area:
Left/Right or Top/Bottom: The objects will be aligned to the corresponding edge of the object.
Center or Middle: The objects will be centered on the central axis of their bounding boxes.
Reference points: The objects will be aligned with the reference points.
For Align on, select whether the object(s) should be aligned to the first or last selected element or to the front panel.
Distribution of objects
Note: The Distribute option is only available when multiple objects are marked.
Mark several objects that should be distributed.
- Call the Align/Distribute dialog and choose between the following options in the Distribute area:
Left edge: The objects will be distributed so that the distance between the left edges of the objects is the same.
Center: The objects will be distributed so that the distance between the midpoints of their contours is the same.
Right edge: The objects will be distributed so that the distance between the right edges of the objects is the same.
Object width: The elements will be distributed so that the distances between the sides facing each other are the same.
Reference points: The objects will be distributed so that the distance between the reference points is the same.
- For Distribute across, choose between the following options:
area selected: The position of the two outer objects will remain unchanged; the objects in between will be evenly distributed according to the selected criteria.
Entire front panel: The two outer objects will be placed at the edge of the front panel; the objects in between will be evenly distributed according to the selected criteria.
Entire front panel with border: The two outer objects will be placed in such a way that their distances to the edge of the front panel correspond to half of the distance between the two objects. The objects in between will be evenly distributed according to the selected criteria.
