General
Engravings are made in the front panel using engraving tools and cutters and are in-filled with a colored paint by default.
Engraving colors
You usually (In-fill engravings option) assign a color to the engraving elements. The engravings are then filled with the corresponding engraving paint. Alternatively, you can also leave engraving elements blank – that is, without any in-fill color at all.
Here you can test the effect of combining different engraving colors with front panel colors.
Print engravings
You can also convert engraving elements into print elements (Print engravings option). This allows you to do things such as easily adopt existing engraving designs should you want to switch your design from engraving to print.
Engraving settings
You specify the engraving settings globally in the Front panel properties dialog under the Engravings item. The options include:
In-fill engravings,
Only cut engravings, and
Print engravings.
You can always deviate from the global settings and change each engraving element under the item Print/In-fill.
Subsequent milling for powder-coated panels.
By default, when using a powder-coated panel, engraving elements are milled after powder-coating. You can deselect this for HPGL engravings.
