Edit > Scripts > FPD Scripts > ScaleGenerator.fpsj

You can use the scale generator to create round and linear scales.

Call the Create scale function in the toolbar.

In the dialog that opens, you can specify various parameters for the scale, such as its shape, the number of graduation marks, and the start and increment values.

The scale generator creates a scale as an HPGL engraving element, as well as a label in the form of text engraving elements if necessary. A labeled scale is inserted as a group.

Subsequently editing the scale

To change the scale you have already created, mark it and then click the Create scale button in the toolbar again. The changes in the scale generator only apply to the scale you have selected.

Editing other properties

Other properties of the scale – such as color, font, printing/engraving – can be edited in the HPGL engraving’s properties dialogs and, if necessary, the text engraving elements (double-click the scale or the labeling elements).

Note: The labeled scale exists as a group; here, you must first ungroup it (right-click the scale > ungroup) in order to be able to open the respective properties dialog.

Scale script

The scale generator is not only available as a function in the toolbar but also as an editable script under Edit > Scripts. More information about scripting in Front Panel Designer can be found here: application programming interface (API).
