D

A D-hole is a cut-out in the shape of a circular segment. This drill hole is used as a mounting hole for BNC sockets, for example. In addition, double and quadruple D-holes with a corresponding number of flat areas can be selected.

Parameters

Description

Shape

Choice between a single, double, or quadruple D-hole.

Diameter

Diameter of the D-hole

Width

Width of the single D-hole = diameter minus height of the recessed circle segment width of double and quadruple D-holes = diameter minus two times the height of the recessed circular segments

Height

Height of the quadruple D-hole = diameter minus two times the height of the two circular segments recessed at the top and bottom.

Rotation angle

Rotation angle of the D-hole around its reference point.

Tool

The 3 mm cutter is set by default. To produce smaller inner radii, uncheck the box next to Automatic selection (this may result in higher costs due to tool changes).

Cut after surface finishing

Only for powder-coated panels. Check the box next to this option if the D-hole is to be made after powder-coating. Additional information.

Do not produce element

Check the box next to this option if the element is not to be machined but rather placed on the front panel for information purposes only.

Edge machining

The edges on the front and reverse sides can be bevel or rounded.
